Gareth Beal Bsc, BVSc, MRCVS:
I was born and brought up in the East Yorkshire Wolds. I enjoy all aspects of mixed practice. My formative years were spent working in Yorkshire and then latterly in East Lothian both of which were busy mixed practices.
I strive for an evidence based approach to veterinary medicine with a pragmatic attitude to hopefully achieve the best results for you and your pets.
In my spare time I enjoy swimming and tramping over hills.
I was born and brought up in East Lothian. I worked in a busy mixed practice in East Lothian for 14 years and enjoyed the challenges that helping manage a multi vet, mixed practice provided.
In my spare time I enjoy reading and swimming and watching all sports. I Also have a passion for Greyhounds and Lurchers.
I was raised in Buckinghamshire before moving to Skye in 2010. Before joining the vets in November 2016, I worked mostly in hotels and restaurants. I have always enjoyed taking to people and have always loved animals, making my job on reception perfect for me.
In my spare time I like to spend time with my dog and 2 cats. I also enjoy photography, writing and running my own blog.
I was born in Ireland and brought up in Edinburgh, and I came to the Highlands early in my career when I became the teacher on the Isle of Rum in 1981. I have been north of the Highland line ever since.
After taking early retirement several years ago I am now really enjoying working on Saturdays at the vet’s practice. It’s lovely to be meeting all the pets and their owners.
I also enjoy sewing, singing with the Gaelic choir, and pampering my own cat Mischa.
Having started life here as a ‘Saturday girl’, I have now risen to the dizzy heights of manager of our busy little pet shop in Portree.
I really love my job and over the years I have come to count my customers (and their pets) as friends.
I am very much an animal person (I have a dog, cats, chickens and ducks) and really enjoy meeting owners and their pets on surgery visits.
I also run a B&B in Kilmuir. So managing both jobs can be hectic at times.
